Dec 1st 2006 Update

Yesterday's headline of the day:

It seems that if you are a Malaysian and you have your own blog, the odds are that you’re a woman, aged 25 or under. Sixty-four per cent of local bloggers are female and 74% of them are in that age group. http://malaysia-today.net wonder where that puts me!:)

Today's early headlines:

On the 3rd. day of his visit to Turkey, Pope Benedict visits its most famous Blue Mosque and attends a liturgical celebration with the the spiritual leader of the world's Orthodox Christians, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I.

It seems that not only Bill Gates and Co., are giving away millions of dollars but also ordinary Americans. "Giving circles," are forming . A small group of individuals who each puts in a stake - $100, $500, $1,000. The group then does research and decides to "invest" in a charitable activity together. By combining their giving, the members multiply their impact. In turn, they enjoy the fellowship among themselves as well as the close contact they make with their charity, letting them see up close how the money is being used. (I hear there has been a similar story in Ipoh, after the 31st July St. Anne bus tragedy. What about the rest of us?).

It's a day of fasting, penance and prayer for Penang Catholics especially and all people of goodwill today in response to the 5/11 Ipoh church incident for healing, forgiveness and dialogue.

Pikom's PC Fair 2006 begins in KL, and Penang. Looking for bargains? This is the place.

Free music at the KL International Buskers' Festival from 2-10 December 2006. Activities for all, children included (see the Sun for details). So, get out of your homes and enjoy some barnstorming sounds!
