What A Fool Believes

Well, took an extended breather after the Ijok "buy-elections". Had to get my thoughts and feelings together after all the hullabaloo. Many have expressed their opinions about the outcome in different ways in different media. Personally, for whatever reason, this particular tune kept coming back in my head - "What a fool believes" by The Doobie Brothers from their 1978 album, Minute by Minute. Part of the lyrics goes like this:

But what a fool believes he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
What seems to be
Is always better than nothing
Theres nothing at all
But what a fool believes he sees...

The story goes like this: Two people meeting in a restaurant -- two people who had had a passionate relationship a while before the meeting. To the man, the affair was the best thing in his life; to the woman, it was fun, but it was time to move on. In the conversation, the man would make a complete fool of himself.

While here in Ijok, another opportunity has been lost. The circus has left, "M.G.R." is back to his resting place, and yes, while we may have gotten our "bread and butter" stuff, we have missed out on chomping down on a huge, thick steak with all the sauces that would have titillated our senses. What a fool believes, he sees....truly.

Read these reports and make up your own minds....

1. Ijok Indians mistake?
2. Dirtiest by-election
3. Opposition blunders
