Jesus Christ Superstar (1973) - Hosanna ( 4)

April 1st is Palm Sunday, also World Youth Day. I thought this clip from JC Superstar would be appropriate to capture the mood of the day. I'm comparing Caiaphas to all those in authority, yelling at the crowd (read: common people) to shut up and go away. If we are aware, we would know this seems to be the prevalent attitude among many of our leaders today, whatever position they may be holding, wherever they may be. But as in the video, Jesus responds to the crowd cheering for him: "Sing, but not for me alone. Sing out for yourselves for you are blessed." Maybe we need to reassure ourselves of this truth and sing out for ourselves, our children, families, communities and indeed this nation of ours, and then... go do whatever he's telling us to.
