Mitch Finley's reflection on Repentance based on the Gospel of Mark chapter 6:7-13 gives another, more challenging and, I think, a more relevant perspective to the Christian today in the light of our life situations:
Preaching repentance is more than moralizing from pulpits - or street corners. It means promoting, mainly by your own example, a whole new world view, the one that comes from living "in Christ." It means managing your time so that your family, work, spirituality, intellectual life and people less fortunate than yourself all find a place in your life in a healthy, balanced manner. It means constantly struggling to maintain this balance. Plus much more of course. But when was the last time you heard a call to this kind of repentance, either from a pulpit or from a street corner?
